Melanie Kressel
Dr. Melanie Kressel is a Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow. She conducts individual and group psychotherapy with undergraduate and graduate students. She also conducts drop-in hours, intakes, and outreach events across campus.
Throughout her doctoral clinical training, Melanie has worked in a variety of settings including university counseling centers, hospitals, as well as psychoanalytic institutes. Prior to her doctoral training, she also completed a masters in mental health counseling, earning a specialization in working with individuals experiencing eating and weight concerns.
Melanie has extensive experience working with college aged students as well as adults. She primarily approaches her work from a relational psychodynamic framework, providing a warm supportive space and valuing the importance of the therapeutic relationship. She also believes in collaboration and flexibility in order to tailor treatment to meet the unique needs of each individual. Melanie’s clinical interests include anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, eating disorders, as well as weight/body image concerns.
