Motoni F HodgesClinical PsychologistCounseling & Psychological ServicesDr. Motoni Fong Hodges joined Health Services at Columbia in 2007. Prior to joining HSC, Motoni was a staff psychologist at Stevens Institute of Technology at Hoboken, NJ. She also taught as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Counseling Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University.Motoni earned her B.A. at Reed College, Ed.M. at Harvard University, and Ph.D. at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She completed an internship in counseling psychology at the University of Oregon Counseling Center, and then went on to do further advance training at the University of Stony Brook Wo/Men’s Center (postdoctoral fellowship) and the William Alanson White Institute (certificate program in psychoanalysis). Motoni’s professional interests include working with international students, diversity issues, marginalization, and group therapy. She has also co-authored articles on ethnic and sexual identity development of Asian-American lesbian and gay adolescents, and assessment of sexual orientation in lesbian, gay, and bisexual studies.
