Patricia Swander joined Health Services at Columbia in 2007. Prior to joining HSC, Patricia was a social worker at New York Presbyterian Hospital Payne Whitney Clinic’s Partial Hospital Program and Intensive Outpatient Program and Inpatient Psychiatric and Substance abuse unit. She attended Skidmore College for her undergraduate degree and received her Masters of Science in from Columbia University School of Social Work.

Patricia’s professional interests include assisting students in navigating transitional and separation issues, as well as body image and substance abuse issues. Patricia enjoys integrating psychological awareness with increasing positive coping skills. She is a member of the Eating Disorder Team and enjoys working with couples. In addition to her work at Columbia she is a staff clinician at Center for Study of Anorexia and Bulimia and is a sexual assault advocate for Bellevue and NYU Hospitals.
