Rick O'Keefe

Dr. Rick O’Keefe joined Health Services at Columbia in October of 2004. Prior to joining HSC, Rick spent many years in academic medicine with a focus on increasing the quality and access to care for the urban underserved. He attended the University of California at Davis and received his M.D. from St. Louis University School of Medicine.

Rick has served as a leader in two New York City Family Medicine training programs and developed programs to care for marginalized adolescents in school-based and street settings. Much of his publications and presentations have explored the doctor-patient relationship, gay and lesbian health, men’s issues, and adolescents/young adults. He most recently completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine.
