Samuel Schnapp joined Health Services at Columbia in 1993. Trained as a nurse practitioner, Sam has a background that includes work in home care, rehab medicine, and the care of post-surgical patients. His original commitment to teaching patients about health maintenance and disease prevention has been strengthened at HSC by the students he works with who, he notes, "often take a very active and positive role in maintaining their own health.” He attended the University of Pennsylvania and received his M.S. in Nursing from Columbia University.
