Columbia University Health Services

CPS Groups and Workshops

Throughout the year, Counseling & Psychological Services counselors offer support groups to students and provide a variety of special programs, often in collaboration with student groups, deans, residence advisers (RAs), and/or other student services groups. CPS facilitates training with RAs on crisis intervention or topics such as unique challenges faces by queer students, workshops on procrastination, and study skills. CPS also organizes meetings with graduate students to discuss recognizing and assisting students in distress, managing the mentor relationship, and getting the dissertation done.

Groups

CPS Student Life Support Groups – Fall 2008

Student life support groups generally meet at CPS main facility on 8 Lerner or in one of our residence hall offices. They are available to all students enrolled in the student Health Service Program. Students interested in participating in a student life support group generally meet with the group facilitator individually prior to joining the group in order to discuss their goals, and to make sure the group is right for them.

Please contact group leaders for more information and to schedule an initial group interview, unless otherwise indicated.
