STUDENTS : Urgent medical or mental health concerns are prioritized in the medical and counseling services of Health Services at Columbia . To reach us, please call 212 854 2284 for general medical concerns or 212 854 2878 for mental health concerns. For after hours medical or mental health concerns, contact the clinician-on-call at 212 854 9797. Your concern will be assessed by a telephone triage specialist and recommendations for care will be provided. For immediate medical or psychiatric care, students may also go directly to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital ER located at 114th Street and Amsterdam Avenue (212 523 3347). An on-campus ambulance service is available, free of charge, which provides pre-hospital emergency medical care and transports to the St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital ER. The ambulance service (known as CAVA) is available to the Morningside Heights Campus 24 hours a day and can be reached by dialing x99 from any campus phone or by calling 212 854 5555. If you are being stalked, threatened, or have concerns about your personal safety, you can contact the Columbia University Department of Public Safety by dialing x99 from any campus phone or by calling 212 854 5555. Public Safety also provides an escort service for the Columbia University Campus which can be requested by calling 212 854 SAFE. If you have been sexually assaulted, you can contact Public Safety by dialing x99 from any campus phone or by calling 212 854 5555. By calling 212 854 WALK you can also contact a Peer Advocate who will discuss your options for reporting and/or seeking medical help and can accompany you to on- and off-campus resources. If you are in a relationship that is abusive, you can contact the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Program for information and support by calling 212 854 3500. FACULTY, STAFF, FAMILY OR FRIENDS : Faculty, staff, family or friends concerned about the mental health of a student may contact Counseling and Psychological Services at 212 854 2878 for advice. In the event of an after hours emergency, please contact our clinician-on-call at 212 854 9797. For information about signs and symptoms of suicidal behavior or for information about helping a friend in crisis, please visit our emotional health library. If you are worried about a student who refuses to seek help, consider contacting their Dean of Students who has the authority to act to preserve the safety of the student or others.
