Columbia University Health Services

Dependents

Health Services at Columbia maintains its primary focus on promoting the health and well-being of students on the Morningside campus. With space and staffing devoted to services for students, dependents receive health care services through providers in the local community.

Certain services provided on campus are available to students’ adult dependents.

  • Spouses and partners may receive couples counseling at Counseling and Psychological Services.

  • Evaluation of an acute medical condition may be provided at Primary Care Medical Services if a spouse or partner has not yet established a relationship with a primary care provider in the community. Visit fees are charged at the time of service.

  • A spouse or partner may join the student in obtaining a travel assessment prior to travel abroad. Immunizations needed for protection during the trip are also available to the spouse or partner.

  • HSC is unable to provide direct service to dependant children.

Health Services at Columbia understands that a student’s spouse or partner may be concerned about the student’s health. See Parents & Families for more information about the ways we are able to assist family members in support of a student’s health and well-being.
