Health Education Visit
During a Health Education Visit (HEV), a student meets one-on-one with a health educator to discuss health questions and how to access health resources. Conversations are solution-oriented and are meant to connect students with information and resources to make informed decisions regarding a broad range of health-related topics.
HEVs are confidential and HIPAA-compliant. All sessions are offered virtually, unless otherwise requested.
Examples of topics include, but are not limited to:
- Strategies and resources for stress coping
- Strategies for healthy sleep hygiene and quality
- Strategies to improve time management
- Communication strategies to support a friend
- Concerns regarding a friend’s alcohol or other drug use
- Finding reputable resources to better understand a new medical diagnosis
- Understanding the range of birth control and safer sex options
Eligibility
HEVs are available to any currently enrolled Columbia University student at the Morningside/Manhattanville campuses.
