Health Education Visits

Columbia Health provides Health Education Visits (HEVs) for students through Alice! Health Promotion. If you’re interested in attending an HEV, begin by completing the Health Education Visit Intake Form or attending Health Education drop-in hours.

Health Education Visits at Columbia Health

Alice! Health Promotion offers Health Education Visits (HEVs) for students to meet one-on-one with a health educator to discuss health questions and learn about accessing health resources. Conversations are solution-oriented and are meant to connect students with information and resources to make informed decisions regarding a broad range of health-related topics.

HEVs are confidential and HIPAA-compliant. All sessions are offered virtually, unless otherwise requested.

Examples of topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategies and resources for stress coping, healthy sleep hygiene, and time management
  • Communication strategies to support a friend
  • Concerns regarding a friend’s alcohol or other drug use
  • Finding reputable resources to better understand a new medical diagnosis
  • Understanding the range of birth control and safer sex options

Who is eligible?

Services are available to all students on the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses. This includes those at Teachers College, Union Theological Seminary, and Jewish Theological Seminary.
