What Comes After Surviving: An Honest Conversation About Intimate Partner Violence, Healing, and Identity with Neisha Christine Himes
What happens when surviving is no longer the whole story?
This honest conversation about intimate partner violence moves beyond warning signs and statistics to explore what can come next. Drawing from her lived experience and professional work as an advocate and educator, Neisha Himes will talk about the many ways abuse can show up, how identity and systemic barriers can shape survivors’ experiences, and what healing can look like when there is space to discover who you are beyond survival.
For survivors, students, staff, advocates, service providers, and members of the Columbia University community, this conversation recognizes the impact of abuse while making room for something else, too: voice, identity, purpose, joy, and a life beyond what happened.
