Go Ask Alice! is Columbia’s award-winning online health Q&A resource, produced by Alice! Health Promotion, where people can submit anonymous health-related questions and find reliable, accurate, accessible, and relevant responses.
To commemorate the site’s 25th year of operations on the Internet, Alice! Health Promotion is hosting the 25 Years of Questionable Behavior campaign from January to April, highlighting popular questions asked during the site’s milestone years:
- 1994: Go Ask Alice! goes live on the internet, likely making it the oldest major health Q&A site on the web.
- 2000: The weekly Get Alice! in Your Box e-newsletter begins landing in subscribers’ inboxes.
- 2004: The Go Ask Alice! website gets a new look, setting the look that carries through to today.
- 2009: Go Ask Alice! wins a Web Health Award and joins Facebook.
- 2015: The Go Ask Alice! website gets a new look and feel, rebuilt to higher standards of web accessibility to enable better performance for low-vision and blind users.
Throughout the campaign period, Alice! Health Promotion is collaborating with campus partners and students to recognize this achievement and raise awareness of this free, online resource among students, faculty, and staff so students can make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
This surround sound communications campaign aims to promote student health and well-being, share relatable information with students and staff, and build campus community. It will be executed on the Morningside and CUIMC campuses through posters, digital screens, nostalgia promotional items, social media, and special events.
