In light of today’s Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, Columbia Health reaffirms its commitment to supporting students in accessing the information and care they need related to their reproductive rights.

  • Students seeking to terminate a pregnancy can receive expedited referrals to Columbia Doctors through Medical Services.
  • Columbia Health offers a resource document on pregnancy termination, updated in August 2022, as part of our Sexual & Reproductive Health web content.
  • We regularly review and update these resources to support our students.
  • We have also continually reaffirmed that the Columbia University Student Health Insurance Plan covers services for pregnancy termination.

You may be familiar with Go Ask Alice!our multi-award-winning health Q&A information resource that has been supporting students at Columbia (and globally) since 1993.  We are proud to have included answers, information, and resources on pregnancy termination since the site first launched.  We hold firm in the belief that having access to accurate, reliable, inclusive, culturally-competent health information is a key to support students as they seek to make informed decisions regarding their health.

Columbia Health will lawfully support all assigned female at birth and those who identify as women in our community to hold bodily autonomy in making health-related decisions.
