The Food and Drug Administration recently approved the life-saving medication naloxone—for which the brand name is Narcan—for over-the-counter access. This is an important step in helping address opioid overdoses and saving lives—but it’s not nearly enough. You first need to learn about opioids and naloxone, and develop the skills to administer this life-saving medication.
