Go Ask Alice!, Columbia Health’s award-winning Q&A website, just got a makeover! For over 30 years, Go Ask Alice! has been the go-to resource for college students seeking answers to niche and nuanced health and well-being questions. Since technology and how we use it has evolved, it was time for a redesign to better serve the Columbia community. 

This visual refresh was even recognized by Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) as a leading example of communications that support, enhance, and elevate health and wellness, winning a 2024 HEALTH+WELLNESS Design Award!

Why the Update?

As Go Ask Alice! has grown and topics evolved over the years, the original design needed a refresh to better match how students talk and learn about their health. Using student feedback, we set out to make the site more informative and accessible, visually engaging, and easier to navigate. These changes help ensure Go Ask Alice! remains an evidence-informed, trustworthy health information source designed with student needs and interests in mind.

What's New?

On the newly redesigned Go Ask Alice! website, you can expect:

  • A more engaging homepage with visuals that enhance your experience

  • Improved accessibility to ensure everyone can seamlessly navigate the site

  • Revised health topics with corresponding icons, colors, and sub-categories to make for a smoother user experience

  • An ‘About’ page describing the history and editorial process as well as a new ‘Meet the Team’ page that highlights the amazing team of health promotion professionals and student staff behind Go Ask Alice!

These updates make it easier to find relevant health information and ensure the site continues to offer a positive user experience.

Go Ask Alice! is an anonymous health and well-being question and answer site. We answer the questions that readers can’t find anywhere else. Whether it’s about a spot on your skin, questions about certain substances, or a sexual fantasy, Go Ask Alice! has you covered. If you can’t find the answer to your question already on the site, then Go Ask Alice!.  

All the questions on the site are from our anonymous readers. The Go Ask Alice! team never submits or creates its own questions.
