Every year, Columbia Health makes it easy for our community to stay protected by hosting free flu vaccination events across the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses. Students , faculty, and staff from the Morningside and Mahattanville campus, as well as students from Teachers College, Jewish Theological Seminary, and Union Theological Seminary all had the chance to roll up their sleeves this fall.
Our signature event took place in the iconic Low Library Rotunda from September 29 to October 1, with a pop-up at Lerner Hall on October 14. Over in Manhattanville, we welcomed attendees to the spacious board rooms of Geffen Hall on October 8.
The results? 5,952 vaccines administered—81% to students and 19% to faculty, staff, and others. Plus, Medical Services providers gave an additional 175 vaccines during October office visits.
Why did Columbians show up? A quick survey revealed the top reasons:
- Convenience (70%)
- No cost (69%)
- Trust in Columbia Health (40%)
We’re proud to continue this tradition of safeguarding the health of our University community. Here’s to a healthier campus!
