Via The Office of Government & Community Affairs Newsletter, 3/17/2023-- Ross Frommer, CUIMC’s Vice President for Government & Community Affairs, testified at the New York State Economic Development Budget Hearing in support of #NYFIRST which helps NYS med schools recruit and retain top scientists.
Additionally Dr. Melanie Bernitz, Senior Vice President of Columbia Health, testified at the New York State Joint Legislative Budget Hearing on Higher Education. Dr. Bernitz advocated for policy changes that would allow New York to join the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact and the Nurse Licensure Compact, a move she said would be “transformative to the care of almost 1 million students enrolled in higher education in New York State.”
