Mengpin Zhang

Mengpin Zhang joined Columbia Health in 2023. Prior to joining Counseling and Psychological Services, she completed her pre-doctoral internship at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Throughout her clinical training, Mengpin gained clinical experience through clinical externships at Psychiatric Institute of Washington, the George Washington University Center Clinic and Culpepper Gardens.

Clinically, Mengpin works primarily from a psychodynamic perspective, and she likes to explore the relationship between a person’s internal world and external world of significant others. Mengpin also has received training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Lacanian and feminist therapy. She believes that flexibility is key in therapy and works to tailor the treatment to each of her patient’s unique needs. Mengpin is interested in helping students navigate a variety of issues, including those related to childhood and relational trauma, relationship concerns, multicultural issues, as well as disordered eating and body image difficulties.
