The Columbia Student Health Insurance Plan (Columbia Plan) will continue to cover all forms of contraception, in compliance with the Affordable Care Act. Coverage of contraception is not affected by the recent Supreme Court decision upholding a federal regulation that lets employers or universities with religious or moral objections limit women’s access to birth control coverage.

Columbia University is committed to providing comprehensive health insurance that supports the overall health and well-being of Columbia students. As a university, Columbia respects and honors women’s rights to bodily autonomy and full control over their reproductive lives. We believe that providing for all aspects of women’s health is crucial to ensuring equitable access to health care and positive life outcomes.
